This Week, I Have Been Mostly Playin'

Just thought I’d share what has been keeping me sane during the heavy days of staring at notepad++

As some of you know may know, I’m an iPad user, but please don’t assume I’m an apple fan as the iPad is the only apple product I own. As well as being an iPad owner, I’m a bit of a gamer too, and have lost hundreds of hours in a past life to many games, from Kid Icarus on the NES to 40 days total playtime on the seminal MW2, but as time does not permit any hardcore gaming (despite a PS3, 360 and Wii all gathering dust under my TV) I find any gaming needs I have can be quashed by some of the great titles on the App Store. Ill start this regular blog topic off by sharing a not very well know gem I found which may surprise some folks out there.

Aralon: Swords & Shadows

The best way to describe this would be to call it Oblivion for iOS, or maybe even Skyrim ‘Lite’.
I’m only a few hours into the game (which for an iPad title is impressive in itself) and although the combat is a little clunky, the overall gameplay is very Elder Scrolls in a satisfying kinda way. You start off by selecting a class for your Avatar from the three choices available (the usual Warrior or Magical dude stuff) and then the gentle questing and looting stuff keeps you occupied as you wander the land meeting folks and killing enemies.
If your after something a little meatier for your iPad, I would say this is worth a look.
